Laminate Floor: 25-year Limited Warranty

What Is Covered and For How Long?

We guarantee that, for so long as you (the original purchaser of the product) live in the dry, residential indoor structure in which the product was originally installed, the laminate floor:

  • Will not stain from normal household consumable items such as food or drink.
  • The melamine wear layer will not wear through.
  • Will not fade in color due to normal natural sunlight or household lighting.
  • Will resist water damage from normal household activities when installed in accordance with provided installation instructions for "Kitchens, Bathrooms, Laundry Rooms and any other Areas Susceptible to Moisture" and is made subject to the following conditions:

± The flooring must be installed properly in accordance to our installation instructions, which is contained in each floor carton.

  • Proper installation includes, but is not limited to performing a moisture test to determine if excessive moisture exists in the sub floor and use of a 6-mil polyethylene film vapor barrier on concrete floors or concrete floor covered with tiles, along with proper use of silicone sealant.

What Will We Do If Any Of The Above Listed Things Happen?

If you make a claim within the warranty period and follow our servicing procedures, we will, at our option, either provide material to repair the defective area or replace the floor. If the floor was professionally installed, we will pay reasonable labor cost to repair the defective area or replace the floor during the first five years.

Exclusions

This limited warranty does not cover wear or damage due to improper installation, cleaning, care or maintenance such as:

  • Accidents, abuse or misuse.
  • Extreme heat or cold.
  • Improper scratching, impact or cutting.
  • Improper workmanship or installation not in accordance with our installation instructions.
  • Improper maintenance.
  • Improper fabrication.
  • Freight damage.
  • Damages by acts of God.
  • Water damage from excessive moisture in a concrete slab, hydro static pressure, flooding caused by ice makers, refrigerators, sinks, dishwashers, leaking pipes, flooding, standing water, household mechanical failures, damage caused by water underneath the flooring, including damage from sub floor hydrostatic pressure or other conditions that result in water being below the flooring or natural disasters.
  • Planks coming apart at the seams because they have been engaged or disengaged more than three times.
  • Installation of flooring that contains any manufacturing defect is not covered by this warranty. *

This warranty is issued to the original retail consumer and is not transferable. The limited warranty applies only when the affected area is visible and covers a flooring area greater than one square inch. Proof of purchase in the form of a sales receipt or other establishing document is required when requesting warranty service.

We exclude and will not pay incidental or consequential damages under this warranty. By this we mean any loss, expense, or damages other than to the flooring itself that may result from a defect in the flooring. No implied warranties extend beyond the term of this written warranty.

Some states do not allow the e exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.

*Manufacturing: In addition to our residential warranty described above, we warrant our product against manufacturing defects that exist in its product prior to purchase by the consumer. Any manufacturing defect must be reported prior to the product installation or, under any circumstance, no later than 30 days after the date of purchase in order to be covered under this warranty. We will replace any such defective material at no additional cost to the customer. Any damage that might occur during shipment is the responsibility of the shipping company.

Warranty of Solid Wood Floor & Bamboo Floor

Warranty on pre-finished bamboo flooring and hardwood flooring:

Structural Integrity Warranty
Paramount Flooring warrants our products to be free from any manufacturing defects. We warrant that our Bamboo floor product would not delaminate for 30 years from the date of purchase.

Surface Finish Warranty
We warrant, to the original purchaser for residential installation, that its surface aluminum oxide finish will not wear through or lack of finish adhesion for 15 year, from the date of purchase.

This warranty is conditioned upon the evidence that the products were properly installed and maintained and not subject to any of the conditions described below.
Limitations on Liability Buyer's exclusive remedy and or sole liability on any claim shall be limited to the repair or replacement of the defective products, which are proven to manufacturer's satisfaction to be defective or refund of purchase price only, at our option. We do not cover any associated costs such as labor or any related materials. We are not responsible for any labor charges of any kind either in the reinstallation of in the dismantling and removal of products previously installed.

Installer/Owner Responsibility
Bamboo flooring and hardwood flooring is a product of nature and therefore, not perfect nor identical in grains or color. Bamboo floorings and hardwood floorings are manufactured in accordance with accepted industry standards, which permit a defect tolerance not to exceed 5%. The defects may be have a manufacturing or natural type.

The installer assumes all responsibility for final inspection of products quality. This inspection of all flooring should be done before installation. Examine flooring for color, finish and quality before installation.

Prior to installation of any flooring, the installer must determine that the job-site environment and the sub-surfaces involved meet or exceed all requirements as stated in the installation instruction. We can't accept any responsibility for job failure resulting from and associated with sub-surface or job-site environment deficiencies.

The installer/owner has the final inspection responsibility as to grade, manufacture and finish. He must use reasonable selectivity and hold out or cut off pieces with visible defects whatever the cause.

Should an individual piece be doubtful or unacceptable, the installer should not use the piece.

This warranty does not cover damage resulting from accidents or abuses that stain or scratch the finish, dull finish or indent the surface of the bamboo and hardwood floors. It also does not cover damage caused by heavy or concentrated foot traffic.
Finish warranty excludes any indentation, scratches or surface damages caused by lack of proper maintenance, misuse, negligence, accidents, spiked heel shoes, water, wet mopping, erosion, pebbles, sand, other abrasives, insufficient prevention and/or protection. The surface wear must be readily visible and must cover at least ten percent of the surface area.
This warranty is valid only if the owner can provide an original proof of purchase and that he/she is the original owner of the floor. Damage caused by pets, indentations, furniture scratches, water, and improper maintenance will void the warranty. It is important to maintain a stable relative humidity level in the home. 40-50% relative humidity is suggested. Small cracks that develop from improper moisture control, flooding and excessive drying will not be covered. Expanding and contracting of the bamboo floor is not covered. Color variations are a natural occurrence in the flooring due to age and exposure to ultraviolet sunlight. Harmful ultraviolet sunlight will over time, fade and discolor bamboo flooring. Sunlight and UV rays can and will cause fading, gloss reduction and color change in any wood or bamboo flooring. Therefore fading and discoloration due to exposure to sunlight and its UV rays are not covered by the warranty.
This warranty does not cover indentations from spiked heel shoes, heavy objects or furniture rolled or dragged across the surface.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by wetting or the presence of excessive moisture, or by conditions that are too dry.
This writing is the complete and exclusive statement of the warranty, and is in lieu of all other express and/or statutory warranties. We assume no liability for incidence or consequential damages.

Occasionally, small flaws occur during milling, finishing, transportation, cutting, etc., which do not necessarily preclude use of the board. Many manufactures allow a percentage of the floor to have manufacture and or product defects which will not be covered by the warranty in most cases it is between 5 to 7% of the total sq. ft ordered depending on the manufacture in question. Please review the warranty before ordering to make sure you have ordered enough products to complete your room. A good guide for ordering your floor is to allow 5% for defective material and 5 to 9% in installation wastage, if you order 10 to 14% more sq. ft you should have enough to complete your project.
